Darjeeling:There is a stir about shutting down government institutions today, though several steps have been taken for the government departments to stop this shutdown.
After the rains in the hills this morning, the police have been deployed in front of various government departments in Darjeeling. Police was also deployed in front of the District Office. Apart from this the RAF, CRPF, and Command Force, are monitoring the situation.
It was told yesterday that with the government’s instructions to fail the shutdown, and due to the reduction of one day’s salary for remaining absent in the office, the service period will be decreased by one day. The instructions for preparing a list of each block, Mahakuma and states and central government organizations, to keep the post office normal as usual, the administration sources said that every government institute is will be protected by the police. Police patrolling van are also stationed along the way.
