Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India has launched a Scheme “Pehchan” on 07.10.2016 with an aim to provide Identity Card to the Artisans of all-over India.
This ID card can be used to avail the benefits of the Scheme run by Govt. of India, easy to participate in any Domestic & International Handicrafts fairs/events etc sponsored by DC (Handicrafts). These Enrolled Artisans will also be covered under AAM AADMI BIMA YOJANA for Handicrafts Artisans, and Artisans Students of Class IX-XII will get Scholarship @ Rs. 1200/Year. Any Artisans can get ID enrollment form free of cost from the office of DC Handicrafts, Deorali, Gangtok, the same may be downloaded from DC (Handicrafts) website.
Kima Sherpa (Vice President Tingda), Nima Lhamu Sherpa (Panchayat Member), Chay Lhamu Sherpa (Panchayat Member), Kalpana Tamang (President Kripa SHG, Tingda) Participated the Camp as a Guest.
As a Chief Guest Sh. Nabin Kumar Naik (State Director, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathhan), Sikkim State explained about activities of NYKS and to empower the Youths, he also explained the Special Incentives of Govt. of India to Encourage Digital Payments, he explained about various techniques/ Applications e.g. E-Wallet, Aadhaar Enabled Payment System, Card PoS, Unified Payments Interface and Unstructured Supplementary Service Data and all flagship programme of govt. of India.
Dr. S. K. Bhuyan, State Director, KVIC, Gangtok addressed to the Handicrafts Artisans and Youth leaders in respect of Prime Ministers Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) as well as system of PMEGP online applications in order to avail the Loan to set-up their units/ventures.
Mr. Shashikant Gupta (Handicrafts Promotion Officer) Conducted the Camp and briefed about the Objectives and Benefits of the Scheme of DC (Handicrafts). He expressed his heart full thanks to The Artisans, SHHDC for their Co-operation to make the event grand Success.
