A Winter Adventure Camp was organized by Air Force Station Bagdogra from 02 to 08 January 2020 under the aegis of Air Force Wives Welfare Association (Regional), Eastern Air Command. Around 66 wards of air warriors from various stations under the Eastern Air Command participated.
The camp was inaugurated on 02 Jan 2020 by Air Commodore HS Sandhu, Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station Bagdogra and Smt Baljeet Sandhu, President AFWWA (Local) at the Adventure Park of Air Force Station Bagdogra. The six-day camp provided thrilling adventure experience to school children under the guidance of qualified and professional instructors. Children enthusiastically participated in parasailing, rappelling, zorbing, trekking, zip lining, burma bridge, river rafting, cycling, night-route march, go-carting, archery and few educational games. They were also taken to the Science Museum at Bagdogra city, air traffic control tower and the helicopter unit of the base. Familiarization with Mi-17 V5 Helicopter and IL-76 aircraft was a memorable experience for the young budding minds. The closing ceremony was marked by a camp fire and an enthralling cultural programme.
