Siliguri : Raksha Bandhan, or simply Rakhi is a Hindu festival, celebrated in many parts of the Indian subcontinent, notably India and Nepal. Raksha bandhan means "bond of protection". It is a sacred thread ceremony, observed by all.
To celebrate the spirit of bonding, the children and the teachers of Bright Academy celebrated the same with great enthusiasm with our BSF Jawans who are always ready to fight for our safety. They are people who always stand up in extreme hard conditions no matter whatever happens, so that we and our families can
sleep without tension.
We reached there by around 12 noon in cabs with beautifully designed Rakhis for our Jawans. The little children were very excited and fun-filled and tied Rakhi to them. Solemn music like “Bhaiya mere, Phoolon ka taron ka", etc. were played and it filled the air with love and affection for our BSF Jawans. They along with the teachers tied rakhi at the border too, prayed for their long lives & distributed sweets. BSF Jawans appreciated the efforts of the school management & felt proud of it.
The days programme came to a solemn end where the children gained the importance of BSF, the sheer beauty of the bond of Rakhi. Photographs were clicked for memory and gifts were also distributed.
